Summer Air Care Tuneup Checklist

  • Pre-check unit is operational before tune-up.
  • Test thermostat for accurate temperature reading.
  • Inspect air filters and verify return air filter is not restricted.
  • Test evaporator coil for any restriction.
  • Inspect duct system for any air leaks or damage.
  • Test condensate pan and fittings for leaks.
  • Test blower wheel, motor stability, amp draw, and bearings in furnace.
  • Test temperature difference between the return and supply ducts
  • Inspect parts for visible wear and tear.
  • Tighten and secure all panels.
  • Inspect all electrical connections and tighten all loose wires and connections.
  • Remove debris inside and outside of condenser.
  • Test temperature difference across outdoor coil.
  • Test performance of relays & contactors.
